This statistic shows how many projects our site members participate in. Members shouldn't participate in projects they have no interest in, but we do incurage our members to participate in more than one project (two projects are incuraged by most in the community, but I personally suggest three - one primary and two back-ups). If there isn't a secondary project available that has your interest, don't dispare, there are more projects on their way.
